Hi, It should be taken in doors as its not weather proof, if you want to keep it out doors then it needs to be in a weather proof box/container that is very water proof. Hope this helps.

I will soon be building an outdoor railroad for my younger cousin, so I have a question about the LGB 5012 controller. I know that it can be used outdoors, but can I leave it outdoors in the weather without worrying about rain getting inside? Or, should it be taken indoors when not in use?
