Guide To Collecting USA Trains Billboard Reefers
Posted by EMD Trainman on Friday, June 21, 2013 1:06 AM

Hi to All,

For those who don't know me I started a website called the USA Trains G Scale Enthusiast Group in 2010. The basic idea of this group was to photo document USA Trains G Scale products and then put them into catagories in our library online. After 3 long years of research and documenting I can say we now have a photo of every USA Trains G Scale woodside billboard reefer ever made from 1990 to current. These photos are exclusive to the group and copyrighted. They are all in high resolution which is much better than the "Stock Photos" that USA Trains officially posted in the past.

I was pondering the idea of having a "Guide To Collecting USA Trains G Scale Billboard Reefers" published but wanted to mention it here to see if there would be any kind of market for it. The Guide would be set up in a time line fashion such as 1991 for example would have photos listed of the USAT woodside reefers that came out in 1991. We also have photos of a few custom runs made by USA Trains. This would be the first time a "Guide" would be published for USA Trains exclusively. I know there is a LGB guide and a Walthers Guide to collecting large Scale.

If this project takes off well then I would move forward to the goal of one day creating a "Complete" Guide to Collecting USA Trains G Scale Products.

Your Thoughts, Comments or Suggestions??

Thanx

Shawn

For those who would like to know more about our website. Here is a You Tube Video called "Welcome to the USA Trains G Scale Enthusiast Group".

It sorta gives you the idea what we area all about and what we have documented so far.

On another note.....Fact.....USA Trains has produced 573 different paint schemes of the Woodside Billboard Reefer since it's introduction in 1990. This number is only based on the regular production run. There were even more produced as a custom run. The Woodside Billboard Reefer remains the most popular selling piece of rolling stock for USA Trains.

The most popular seling USA Trains locomotive is the EMD GP7/9.
