Is anyone familiar with this engine? As best as I can come up with this an Accucraft product. What might the value be of this engine?
Are you looking to buy or sell one? I have 2,don't go under 10' diameter curves. Not a great puller, don't run the loco over about 0.7 amps or you will fry the motor.
See my website under largescale...motive power....AML...K4

Thanx for your reply Greg,
By the way this is # 1339 with the sound, it has the original metal case also.
Do you happen to know the year of manufacture for these and the possible value than and now?
It's not forsale though.
Do you think it would pull 3 or 4 Aristo heavyweight passenger cars?

I went to your sight after my first post to you here Greg.
So do I understand you correctly that your engine did not have the sound installed?
You say you tried QSI and from as it appears you had quite a few problems, Correct?
My intention is to run strait track power.
I did not remember about the sound option, but the board in the tender has plugs for a sound system, and I believe the manual stated which to use.
The motor is a pittman and the geartrain allows the "free rolling"... the unique electrical properties of that series of gearhead pittman motors can really confuse the BEMF characteristics of certain decoders.
The new QSI Titan will probably work fine with it.
If you are just running DC, then you are probably fine and have no intention of using a decoder.
The pulling power is marginal, on light grades it will probably do what you want. It is relatively easy to add ball bearings to your Aristo cars and that would be a good idea. It's a common modification.
Sounds good Greg,
We will be running on a flat display table about 28' by 32' at shows. Thanx for your site and all of the info.
