Hi If they have been packed up and dust free then a good oiling on all moving parts ans grease to the driving motor screw do you have a rolling road if so put loco on it and slowly brig the voltage up. If you are running digital them take it easy as circuit board will need time to adjust after 6 years of non use. Hope this helps

Well, it's been almost 6 years since I dismantled my last garden railway. Well, I finally have bought my own home and have my own back yard. That means I can finally build a new garden railway. My question is this, all but two of my large scale locomotives have been mothballed for the past 6 years. What should I do before putting them back on the tracks and running them?
