And I found a tub of halloween decorations ( the hard way,i triped and fell over it in the dark ) That must be put out today ( CFO orders ) and yesterday was shoping day with the VP/CFO. Today will be spent putting outside stuff inside.
Hi Dave Its a shame the new forum does not show where we are based, my reason for saying that is im in the uk, and IM SICK OF THE RAIN Ive tried a lot of times to get out and run somthing as soon as I open the depot doors what drops from the sky/ Youve guesed it

HI Two Tone I am 60 Miles or so from San Fransisco we have micro-climites here, rain in one place sun in anouther at the same time. It's currently snowing about 150 miles east of here right now, we have some sun. didn't get as much done as expected . I triped and now my body hurts .
I must be geting old I am just now recovering from my fall, I havent got much done except for getting more wood and starting on the snow ( leaf ) shed and section four hopefully my helper will dig some holes for me and I will be able to start section 1. None of the track has been secured yet. Still looking for a source of rubber roofing matearel Scrap peice's to use as sound deading .
UPDATE: Progress has been made. most of section 2 has track layed out , rail-jointers screwed together. with some of the track screwed down. I am still looking for a suitable sound deading material ( cheap ). What i am looking at now is foam shelf liner . I used a small peice under one of my grade crossings with very good results. I think this will hold ballast in place and I know i can paint it gray if i can't find any gray. If your wondering why I want to place this under my track, it's so i can have ballist and decrease the noise level of a wood sub-roadbed.
UPDATE: slow going due to rain, all of section 2 track is screwed together and in place. getting ready to install section one post's track boards and lift out bridge ( access to lenon tree and rose's ) . part of section 3 is done and section 4 is started. GOOD new is I may have to reconfugure my track and add two reverse loops ( thanks for the artical on reverse loops ) for my PCC (christmas present ) along with cross overs so i can run the PCC along with my gas rail bus ( I named it after my Grate Neice Reenie whom i just met for the first time ) independent of the Main line. IT's my Birthday
Happy birthday!
Thank You Rex
Not much to add, been fighting off a cold/allergies since I helped one of the Kid's get out of storage. so no outside working for me . I did find a buy yesterday, I got some duarf alberta's for $6.29 each and I hope to go back on the 1st to get some more so now my forest is starting....
LONG OVERDUE UPDATE:
Not much done.. rain and cold weather holding me up. I did make a list of things to do. boy am I behind. I went to a Train Expo I made purchase of Garden metal Models bridge. It would have been cheaper at my LHS after adding the cost of entry and gas to go plus the fact I overpaid for what I got.. Not to happy about that but as they say _ _ it happens . below is a picture of the bridge so far. I think I am going to swap out the 36 inch rail for 2-24 inch sections and add tie strips to the ends.
my New track plan calls for a total of 5 bridges. I had three so now I am up to 4. The last one will be a lift out section about 4 or 5 foot.
update: I just noticed I posted the wrong picture so here's the correct one..
The "wrong" pic looks good too.

Overdue update: after a long, long brake and u can pick any reason for that. I started working my RR. I have made some major progress all of my track is laid out for sections 1,2 & 3. I changed how am doing these from above ground planters with track to above ground tables covered in indoor/outdoor carpeting w/ balist , rocks ( real & fake ) and buildings I am doing this because of the condition my buildings are in from all the dirt and grime from being on the ground . Pictures this week end.
.
Can't seam to find my camera............. So here go's my update. I installed in/outdoor carpeting that I purchased for $2.25 a yard and as per usual I have more green then gray so al I will need I yard or two gray to finish up. sections one and two are complete except for wiring and that is in progress. I am rerouting the wires so that means I'm starting from scratch. This time I am color coding all of the connections. I am using 22ga wire for switch control. When I removed the old RR. I cut off the end of my old wiring then buried them under pavers oop's ... I did leave a 2pair 18ga cable and a single pair 18ga wires for switch's. Since the NEW RR will not have any switching in this area I plan on using them as additional power feeders in that part of the yard.. When I first designed section one, I only allowed room for two short stub sidings. That has been changed to 1-7.5ft and 1-9.5ft now I can have Three consist out ready to run with a flip of switch or two and some switching operations. Section two is all single track with one removable bridge, I need to back pull three old feeds and the pull in one feeder for both ends of the removable bridge ( buried in Plastic pipe) after I find the other end and dig it up. The two pulled feeds will be used for switch control on section one, Section two BTW, is a 210 deg loop of 9ft diameter track with approx. 8ft and the 4ft bridge being strait . This provides access to our ever producing Lemon Tree and section one. That's it for now............
Dave you need to find your camera it all sounds good but it would be great to see it

current update: Construction of section 2 is near complete. the snow (leaf ) shed is almost done I am thinking of adding 8-16 inch's more, track is secured and wired but not tested or cleaned. I did make a lot of progress since the last update .
will try to post updated pictures from my camera latter today. We are planning on going out of town tomorrow so today will be busy getting my truck ready.
So still no pictures, but I have added Google Chrome as a web browser to my computer. We did go out of town for Fathers Day. I finely meet my Grand Daughter in Masa, Az . My Son took us out to some of the local hobby shops, trains only, we were treated well by the shop owners who informed us ( much to my surprise ) that LARGE SCALE WAS DEAD IN THE VALLY. Of the two we visited only one had anything large scale with large price's match the size. USA trains/LGB ( not sure witch ) F-unit for $ 575, ( more then I paid for my 3 f-3 daylight set ) . The other shop had 1, 3-ft.section of LGB track on the counter for testing. and that was all for there large scale. They did however give us a demo of there 1/4 scale shop layout with it's realistic sound system and gray smoke. So now for my update, pictures after sunrise. Progress: about 36 ft. of track installed and wired most of the carpeting installed that put me at the in the area of my dry river/water fall. I have started on the storage end of The East side . and I have two more trips to Home Depot for wood and some 8x16x8 inch concrete blocks. one trip today then one next week for the other supplies. So far my new RR has cost about $400. with about $150 more to go. I have the materials to add the extra 8 inch's to the tunnel. I am considering adding a plastic liner to the tunnel to smooth out the look, that is still TBD. I have a lot of cleaning of buildings to do. having my old RR sit unused and uncared for of 18 months show's. A lot of extra fine dust from over balisting the old RR and two rainy seasons splashing dust on every thing has taken it's toll. BUT the main thing is I am back to feeling normal and am working on the railroad as much as I can. Has it been worth the time and cost ?? My Wife thinks so, She said it is a big improvement over what I have done in the past. and the fact that I am putting ground cover down ( carpeting ) as I go give's the feel and look of completeness.
Picture's will be posted today. the sun didn't come out till yesterday. I was just too busy building to take pictures. THEY WILL POSTED TODAY AS SOON AS I AN DUNN BUILDING THE NEXT SECTION. By the way I was granted space to make the return loop a two track loop so I can have a separate track for my PTC PCC.
