If a button or two do not work, then it is the microswitch that is bad.  I have fixed mant 27mhz transmitters by installing new micro switches.  I bought a reel of 100 for less than $20.

These are SMD (surface mounted devices) units but a small tipped solder iron will remove the old ones.

Well, I had another back up that was also not working, I sent them both to Aristocraft and for 50.00$ they are back and presumed fixed. I have yet to hook them up but soon.

Be sure you have verified the frequency as well as the track ID.

And when programming, use fresh batteries and keep the receiver at least 3 feet from any power source trains or otherwise.

And if anyone is using 27mhz for anything (rokenbok comes to mind) then the signal may not be seen by the receiver.  I had that issue once.

Actually I called Aristocraft and they told me that they would fix it if the chip wasn't blown, If that was the case it was DOA. So I sent two of mine in, and hopefully something can get fixed.

Hi Paul,, I have that one had the same problem worked before lunch went out after lunch would not work checked every thing but it was dead. As tis unit has been out of production for over five years, there is no change of getting unit repaired, I was lucky to get a replacement by ring around G Gauge shops and a few days later a shop called to say a customer had traded one in as he was updating his layout out.     I hope this helps.Smile

I'm not; if you haven't already, try posting on http://www.mylargescale.com/Community/Forums/tabid/56/Default.aspx or  http://www.largescalecentral.com/LSCForums/

there seems to be a few guys who are, and they tend to frequent those boards.

I am still old school, and running my trains with the Aristocraft TE. I had one that was working, but now it has stopped. It has power, I push the button for the green light to come on, it does, but when I push the A button on the transmitter, nothing happens.  The green light just goes off. I am still testing some things, since it worked a week ago, but I would appreciate any suggestions of things to try.

Thanks

Paul
