Onboard Cameras
Posted by ttrigg on Saturday, July 7, 2012 7:08 PM

Sports video camreas are getting much smaller these days. About a month ago I picked up a video camea slightly larger than the average home refrigorator ice cube. It is designed for use on a bikers helment, but has an accessory package that allows hooking up to bike handle bars, sweat band/arm band and such. I've used mine at the San Diego Wild Animal Park on the Zip line, and segway tours. When on vacation in Yosemite I put the head band clamp into my dash cell phone mount and used it as a dash cam. It is small enough to fit inside some engine cabs as well as inside almost any passenger or freight cars. Price $75. Records to micro sd card (no view screen) has about 6 hour battery live with 16 gig micro sd card. If you go looking, ask to see the "Go-Pro" line and then ask if they have smaller/cheaper ones. At my Walmart, they are on the pegs with the other cheap cameras.
