I'm home!!! Guess I forgot to mention we were going on holidays. Nowadays it's better to be safe about what info we post. Anyhow...the wife and kids had an incredible time on our holiday. It was all about visiting this year. Boy did we do a lot of driving but was it worth it! Denver is beautiful. Got to ride the Georgetown Loop. What an incredible railway. The scenery is breathtaking. By far the best part of our holiday was visiting. Went from Denver to see Marty Kozad and his family then off to the twin cities to see OLD DAD. Guys....people like these make our hobby the best in the world. Marty and his wife are wonderful and fantastic hosts. Not five minutes after we arrived Marty pulled out his trains and handed me the throttle. I ran his big UP engines and a passenger train too. He even brought out Thomas for the kids. The kids enjoyed feeding the fish before we sat down to eat. (No, not the fish)We very much enjoyed a HOME COOKED MEAL!!! Restaurant food wears on you after a few days. Boy did I eat! Sloopy Joe never tasted so good. Marty and his wife Carrie are a class act. After that we headed to see Larry and his family in the twin cities. As expected we had a wonderful time. Their daughter Sara is fantastic with children. My two kids did not want to leave. Sara being a huge Disney fan kept my kids busy with all kinds of fun while Naomi and I could talk trains with Larry and Sue. We also got out to an open house there and met many more great people.
Folks...we were extremely blessed by all we met on our trip. We talked about it all the way back to Winnipeg. Marty, Carrie, Larry, Susie, Sara....THANKYOU!!! It's people like you that make this hobby awesome. We look forward to returning and hope one day to host you all at our home too.
To everyone on the forum who emailed me wondering if I was OK...I'm fine! Glad to be back with my "Online" Family. You are all awesome and we appreciate you! Later eh...Brian. [:D] [tup]
