Thanks Bluebonnet - 71, I will check it out.

I to am only interested in a top plan. The bells and whistles do not interest me. If I can find what I want, it would be faster than the old pencil & graph paper when it came to making changes. All I want to be able to do is draw a rough plan as I am going to handlay all my track anyway.

I am in the very beginning stages of my layout. So far, the grass is removed and I am working with about 10 different idea of what I may want in the end.

It won't be a huge layout, but it will be one regardless. My blank canvas is 23' x 32'.

Oh no, they would not want to make a drag and drop grid type system.
Truefully all I care about is top plan, but some systems include the grade so you don't make that "oooooooooooopppppppppppsssssss dear I messed up."

Sorry I just rather have a drop and drag program with out all the bells, just make sure you add the grid, I do like that!

I am starting to understand what you mean. Was working with CADrail.... so far, I'm not too impressed either. Curiosity got the best of me I suppose.

I Would appreciate the names of some of the CAD software programs some of you may have worked with. At present I am evaluating RAILCad. Windows based would be best for me

This is of course, is not to say that the old "Pen & Graph Paper" will not prevail, as it has in the past. Just want to try something different.

Thanks
