NEVERMIND....... I'm such a dufus!! It was the Bachmann board I burned-up. I just took a gander at the picture I took earlier and there is no such board! I will remove the Bachmann board and move on!
The "Y" board connects to the engine cable and has 8 connectors on the rear. The other board is a tan colored, single small square with red and black wires going to and from an "outlet" at the rear of the tender, (IIRC) wires connecting to the "Y" board and a loose black and white wire. The board just site loosely in the tender.
Could this have been something the previous owner added? Did I REALLY screw things up? Can I post a pic here?
You mentioned LGB and Y board. Is the Y the board that connects to the engine cable?
And the original sound board was 2 boards stacked like a sandwich.
Then there is the single digital sound board, and there is the mts version.
So which one d you have?
The LGB board.
Which board? Bachmann or LGB.
Bachman board had a 9 volt battery for power and the other wire was chuff control.
LGB had power, light, and chuff control from the engine to the tender.
Wellll...... I apparently burned out the circuit board. I heard a "pop" followed by a whiff of smoke from the tender (where I mounted the speaker from my Bachmann). Do any of you know where I can get the board? I've been looking and can't seem to find the board. It's the square board not the "Y" shaped board.
TIA!
I just attached the red to red and black to black.
The plugs on the rear of the tender also control sound cars, such as the LGB cattle car, chicken car, etc.
All LGB loco have the two plugs on the rear of the loco or tender. They are for lighting trailing cars. You just have to be careful on the polarity so you don't short things out.

Hi Tom, Could you increase the font size of your posts as I have to increase it by 50% to be able to read it. All others are a better size

Yea.... I am over there too. Apparently the 2119D is some sort of rare mogul with little to no information available. I "searched" 2119 and got ZERO results. I went ahead and transplanted the sound board and speaker (which is waaaaay to big!) to the tender of my 2119D. I just wired the black to black and red to red wires. I am curious as to the purpose of the apparent plug at the rear of the tender.
Thanks......
I think the switch does the following:
Operating Modes This model has a three-way power control switch mounted inside the cab (Fig. 1): Position 0: All power off Position 1: Power to lights and smoke generator Position 2: Power to lights, smoke generator and motor (factory pre-set) I don't own any LGB engines, but I think they operate similar. I think you could get answers to your questions on http://www.mylargescale.com There are several people there that have 2119Ds. Tom

My Blog
I just purchased an LGB 2119D loco and have a couple of questions. I tried searching and found nothing. I received no instructions or information about the unit and am having trouble finding out how it all works (like the 0-1-2 switch on the back of the cab). The loco is quite dirty. Can I spay it with a cleaner like dish soap and then rinse it off? It is for outdoor use after all.Can I add sound to the unit? The tender is empty and there is a connection between the loco and tender. Can I transfer the sound unit from my Bachmann to the LGB? Would I just attach the black and red from the Bachmann to any of the black and red on the LGB? What is the purpose of the apparent connection at the back of the tender?
TIA!!
