Rob, I myself have no one I hobby with other than the wonderful members of this fourum who I concider my club. You could place a personal so to speak at local hobby stores on their board if they have one. I'm not sure where Henry Virginia is but there are two clubs in Virginia- Big Lick BTO's in Troutsville Virginia and TIDEWATER BTO's in Virginia Beach, I'm assuming BTO's stands for Big train operators. My Guess is to not exclude indoor modelers in large scale.

Don't know how close these people are to you. They list other clubs on their site

http://www.wvmgrs.org/

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Check with Old Dad here in the forums he's interested in doing the 15" I believe. Click on his FYI links and you will probable find some info on them. Vsmith also does some HOn3 I believe.

I have started laying my 15" gauge track using code 125 rail on redwood ties. This track is located on our outdoor "G" scale layout and will be more like moving scenery than a operating railway. It will be battery powered with an on-off switch and run along a "main line" of about twenty feet with a reversing loop at each end.
How long this small hand laid track will hold up in Minnesota is an open question but that is ONE of the reasons I have decided to built it in the first place.
OLD DAD

The FYI thread on this forum has several links to Gn15 and 7/8n15 web sites.

Rob

I'd like to here more about your Indoor layout, I'm also an Innie, 8 x 10, almost a Micro-layout in G scale.

Been working on my layout on and off now for over a year.

Have you seen the new Ozark Miniatures catalog? They are going to offer Gn15 items including some of Herb Deeks original castings, Neet stuff!

   Have fun with your trains

I joined a club when I lived in Sydney and they were a great help to me still are and i live a 1000 km (600m) away. However They are strictly G Scale and I got there name from a Hobby shop where I started off in G scale.

However when i oved up here to queensland i tried to join the local model rail club and found that i could not stomach them for the following reasons.

1) Chauvanists

2) Too prententious

3) Ideas too small

4) Not enough in common.

So not all clubs may suit you
