All of these structures and the supporting wall are Hebel blocks
Hebel is aerated cement, used in construction. It's very light but has the strength of a normal block. I carve it with an old chisel and cut it with a wood saw.
Do a Google for it.

I agree, nice job, but besides asking what you used to carve it, what is a Hebel brick? I'm suspecting that this must be something relatively easy to carve?

The head is gray, hands don't work , back is weak, legs give out, eyes are gone, money go's and my wife still love's Me.
This one is carved out of a solid Hebel brick
I spent some time at Alcatraz. I was in the US Coast Guard and worked on the lighthouse. Have fun, Rob
paultheloon How do you get people in and out of the cells?
How do you get people in and out of the cells?
depend's on what they did. mostly he dorp kicks them.........
I was affraid someone would ask that question. Truth is, the cell block was a last minute thought and I didn't feel like designing and building cell doors. Once the roof is on, you can't really see inside very well unless you get on your hands and knees really close up.
Thanks Dave.
I like it.
After constructing a Court House I figured we needed a place to hold people pending trial and for the guilty to serve their sentences. Here are some pictures of the County Jail.
