USA Trains News & Updates
Posted by EMD Trainman on Monday, January 2, 2012 12:01 PM

The USA Trains 29ft and 42ft Tank Cars are out now. They are made from real extruded aluminum metal and are pretty heavy around 5lbs each. However the USA Trains 29ft, 42ft and 55ft tank cars are the only G Scale tank cars with the correct type couplers for prototypical tank cars.

The USA Trains 60ft box car was a real hit which features realsitic prototypical cushoined couplers which is a first in the G scale industry.

On other news, the new prototype Autorack was on display at the Charles Ro Booth at the ECLS fall 2011 train show. Very impressive model indeed and I captured photos of this wonderful prototype.

USA Trains also has a "Un-Announced" project which is a 2 Bay ACF Hopper. This project has not yet been onnounced on the "Ofiicial" USA Trains website but however the prototype was on display at both the ECLS 2011 Spring adn Fall Show. Charlie did day this one was indeed going to be made. You can see photos of this prototype on my website

I personally talked to Charlie from USA Trains at the ECLS Fall show he did mention he found another manfacturer to produce his trains but would not disclose who it was. The huge delays have set many disappointments in the USA Trains camp in the past but now things are moving along once again.

For more news updates please visit my website. We also have documeted well over 100 custom runs made by USA Trains as well as 1,000's of online photos, PDF Document Files and online catalogs back to 1988. It's free and a great place to research what USA Trains made in the past.

Charlie from USA Trains did tell me he has another 10 projects he wants to do but will surprise us so we have to wait and see what these new projects are. I'm hoping for a SD-9 locomotive myself.
