With almost $8 shipping for a $1 item, I'd look locally for someone who sells "conductive lube" for automotive uses -- an automotive parts store such as NAPA, Wal-mart, K-mart, Target, etc. should all have it.
It's for use on rail joiners, so any similar item made for automotive electrical connectors should basically be the same product.
And why a concern about "gunking up the works?" You shouldn't be using it on your locomotives.
I've heard great things about the similar LGB product. I would think it works...it's just conductive grease, right? You could probably pick up a tube of it at any hardware store, though.
Has anybody used this paste that Al sells? Does it work?

Thanks...I ask because it seems to me it might gunk up the works inside and outside, but what do I know?
