Has anybody re wheeled a USA trains SD 70. It seems the flanges on this model are deeper than the ones fitted to other locos and it catches the tie bolts on some of my code 215 track.
Cheers , Tim.
NWSL (Northwest Short Lines) is about the only game in town. Be careful, they carry 3 different "sizes" and the new owners are not real proficient in selecting the products.
You may want the semi-scale wheels.
You need to get them to tell you the flange depth, and also importantly, the tread width. It's a little-know fact that the gross tolerances in most of our switches depend on a wider than prototype tread, otherwise a prototype width will normally drop into the frog throat.
