Eric, that presentation is cool! However, we surveyed a fair number of people on a DVD collection, and there was little interest. We will revisit this in a year or so and re-evaluate then.

Mark, the digital version will be priced the same as print. The target date for going live is not firm, so I'd suggest renewing for three years now. When we go digital, you can call or email our Customer Service department and they will be trained to help you with the digital transition.
I happened to be flipping through the WoodenBoat magazine catalog...they now sell a thumb drive with all the back issues as PDF files and an updated and complete index for that magazine $155...the thumbdrive is housed in a nice wooden case as befits that magazine.

Will the digital version be priced the same as the printed version?
I need to redo my subscription in the next couple of months. I was planning on doing a 3 years subscription. Not knowing when the digital version will be active, if I subscribe to the hard copy will I be able to conver to digital or will I have to wait until the end of the subscription?

Just to be perfectly clear: In the not-too-distant future we will be ADDING a digital edition of GR. Nothing is changing with the printed magazine. You will have your choice of print, digital, or both.

To the best of my knowledge, any copyrighted material, magazines, drawings, etc., may be copied for your own personal use and archival purposes. So long as you do not 'DISTRIBUTE' the material to others, you are not breaking any copyright laws.

what about the people who don't have access to a pc or a library pc or a printer or the internet?
That is good news Rene, I like the feel of a magazine in my hands, but storage is becoming a problem.
So with a digital down load, can I copy it onto a disk for storage with out upsetting the copyrights on the magazine?

Good news--digital subscriptions to Garden Railways will be on sale soon. Digital subscribers will be able to read each new issue on computers or portable devices such as iPads, Nooks, Kindles, and other tablets. Stay tuned for more information.
Unfortunately, right now GR is not scheduled to release back issues in DVD form.
I like the physical copy of the mag., but certainly wouldn't mind reading it on an iPad or the like.
Trains magazine and Model Railroader magazine have/are being released on DVD --
Garden Railways has not made any announcement whether they are considering this.
Hello all, Andrew calling in from "down under".
As my bookcase is full of Garden Railway Magazines that I collected over the years, as I enjoy going back through past issues, re-reading items, having a close look at photos to get more ideas and drooling over the prices of what I "should have bought at the time" before the cost increased.
I wonder if there is any thought to mailing out this magazine in disk form, to be read on computer.
I have a reasonable download speed for internet but it is not always reliable for large down loads, that's why I ask about the magazine on a disk. Also that months plans for buildings that we normally have to be download if we wanted them could possibly be included on the disk.
It would certainly make storage of this fine publication much easier.
