I just got a notice about this material, and while it may have been intended for the sign industry, I think it could do wonders for the train folk too.

This material, Hard Coat is a two part material that cleans up with water.  It is usable on almost any base material (styrofoam, cardboard, cement, etc.), it can be applied using almost any method or tool, it can take any paint or finish, and can be applied as thick or thin as you wish.  It was originally intended for sign makers to be able to add textures to signs and monument bases, but because of it's versatility it could let us create all kinds of textures or finishes to buildings, "stone" bridges, mountains, piled materials on rail cars, roadways, you name it.

I've ordered some to play with, but I thought others more experienced would find some use for it too.

   I went to their site and looked at some of the products....what did you find out when you used the stuff?

   (My interest should be pretty obvious if you read our thread on using drywall mud outdoors.)
