Nevada 2011 - Reference material for modelers

I just finished posting an account of my 2011 Nevada trip, plus pics and a couple videos:

I saw a lot of historic buildings and ruins, old mines, equipment, vehicles and other things that might be useful to modelers. Many of the vehicles and equipment are documented in detail on my Vintage Machinery page, including some old-fashioned gas pumps, a Chevy tanker truck, two different mine hoists, a Farmall tractor, and a mint-condition, 1923 Model T Ford:

I visited the Nevada Northern Railway Museum too, and got plenty of photos of #40, a 4-6-0 built by Baldwin in 1910.

 

There were a lot of thunderstorms this year, although they produced more rain than thunder and caused a lot of flooding. I even have video of a flash flood.

neat photos!  old abanded stuff is alway interesting. 

it looks like it lasts better out west than it does here in the East.  we too have some old abandoned industires but it pretty quickly falls into the earth and gets trees growing up though it.
