It looks like you need to remove the screw from the centering wire, then simply unscrew the coupler. I think you'll need the replacement couplers that were (hopefully) included.

I have had almost every small engine over the years ...except this one. If no one here can help, I would suggest asking on the aristocraft forum. Its there engine so they should know what to do.

Lil Critter Hook & Loop Couplers
Posted by skippygp123 on Saturday, August 13, 2011 2:10 PM

Can anyone tell me how to install the hook & loop couplers that come with the Aristo-Craft Lil Critter?  My Lil Critter came with knuckle couplers installed and, normally, it is a simple matter to remove the knuckle couplers and just screw the hook & loop couplers in their place.  However, on the Lil Critter, the hook & loop coupler doesn't have a long enough shaft to install it where the knuckle coupler had been.  Has anyone done this conversion?  If so, can you tell me what you did to get the hook & loop couplers to work?

Thanks!
