Just install a DCC decoder with analog control. Several manufacturers make these and you will get acceleration and deaccereration on any track powered layout.
He is actually a manufacturer and turns up on several sites asking for "advice" and seems to see this as a way of getting free advertising.

If he was as ill informed as he claims -he should never have gone into business...

Purchase a power pack with "Momentum" controls built in. I use only battery power so I have no experience with G scale packs but many MRC power packs for the smaller scales have this feature.
Paul,
I would suggest you purchase a copy of "Model Railway Electronics" by Roger Amos published by Patrick Stephens Ltd. (I have the 2nd edition).
Chapter 8 " Voltage Control Inertia Simulator" is the section you require.
Hello,
I am new to this forum.
Would appriciate if someone can help me build an inertia acceleration and braking circuit to power & control my scratch built G scale diesel outline mainline locomotive(track powered).
My knowledge of electronics: I can solder circuit boards, but nothing beyond!!
Thankyou
