You can get it in two forms, liquid and powder. I use the powder form.  almost all the "gunky junk" is evacuated from the pond via the "bottom drain" and then to the filter. The weekly cycling of the filter gets RIPE at times, but the roses love the "fertilizer.

Yes the product is called Microbe-Lift as ttrigg stated and you can get the bacteria and the barley straw.  I usually buy all my stuff on line from  www.marinedepot.com or www.drfostersmith.com or any other pond site.  I look for the best prices for the amount of fluid.

The Microbe-Lift sludge away stuff usually smells rotten and nasty but does a great job.

I use: "Microbe-Lift Barley Straw Concentrated Extract" for algee control. Quarter cup spread across pond twice a month.

http://www.aquaticponds.com/ They are a 45 minute drive for me, but they do ship. Scroll down the "menu" on the left side of the page to "Pond and Fish Care".

I usually use all natural bacterial and barley straw. Both fight algae naturally and give good bacteria to prevent the algae.  I don't get a bunch of algae except for a few spots but it helps to prevent my water from turning brown from the oak leaves.  It works great once established.

SP....So where do you get your bio supplies from.....I have a problem right now with algea.

GOOD Pond Algae Control product

Our pond was really green after the ice melted. We had some Tetra Pond Algae Control(I see Amazon has it) we had gotten last fall, but had not used yet. Have applied it twice now and it has really cleared up the pond a lot. You put it in every 3 days at first. Sort of have some foam/bubbles on top, but if your filter is going they soon clear up. We've had a pond for 15 years and this is the best product we've found to de-green the pond. Will continue to use it and see how it works out. We also have a filter and a UV filter.
