You seem well versed Alan, I hope I'm not imposing by asking a question...I was wondering if you could give me any idea what would be involved in changing the voice-over message on a train. Now I won't be doing it on a train, my desire, my dream at this point is to do it to a Disney Monorail Playset. I'm sort of "famous" in the Monorail set for my custom high speed conversions, I go by Collectitall41 on Ebay and have sold well over a thousand of my Monorail upgrades, ever since I posted a video of my Disney Mono racing a stock Disney Mono on Youtube it's just blown up, I'm rebuilding about 10 a week (careful what you wish for), I only charge $25 so maybe that wasn't a great plan! Anyway, you may consider me very handy both with electronics and building small things, I was working on the inertial nav systems of F-15 Eagle Jet Fighter in the USAF at just 18 but only so-so working with software. Can you perhaps give me a launching off point? Changing boards is out of the question, you can't buy an unprogrammed Monorail PCB at any hobby shop so I'd have to be able to do the work on the board in place. My email is soberlyf@aol.com. Don't know if you like Monorail Train models as well or are a Disney fan, but if so check me out on Ebay or just type Custom Monorail on Youtube, I'm about the only thing that pops up, my handle is Wyattspoppa

Thanks for allowing the imposition. Cheers

You need a DCC set to activate LGB sounds and announcements with the onboard decoder.

Check your instruction book. Basic sounds available through analog (DC) operation.

The only engine that I know of that had special sounds was the LGB christmas trolley.  It plays Chrsitmas music.

All moguls do have the same sound including the coke mogul.

You can get the Zimo DCC board with custom sounds/songs and you can even get the programmer and software to do this your self..  For Christmas I would like Grandma got run over by a TRAIN dear!!! and I have the engine with antlers made by LGB!!

LGB 22184 Disney Mogul Sound Question
Posted by Daryl Kling on Saturday, January 15, 2011 4:31 PM

Hi, I just received my Christmas Present Disney Mogul (22184)  with sound new in box.  I thought that the sound included recordings such as "Now approaching Disneyland Station" .  The sound works just like all of the other LGB Moguls I have so did I misunderstand the features?

Sincerely,

Daryl
