I am in Taiwan, I have about a ha ranch in Kenting national park. Now I had one set and two locomotives. I bought it about 4 years ago. I wish I could get more and more information to get inexpensive every G scale model. I had been bought single track (not two line up) about 5’~6’ , but I already forgot where could I order again.

Very easy beginning. Buy a copy of "Garden Railroad" Start with the dealers listed. Then branch out after you know what equipment you want.

Also read through the blogs here. They go way back. Find out what people like or dislike. what hey had problems with and their corrections.

Always remember this. You buy and run what you like.

I mix and match so much.

I second Two Tone's coment about YOUR location It doe's help US help you, Try the retailer locator in this forum for a local hobby shop ( LHS ) . Just about any advertiser in GRR is good to deal with. Shoping on E-Bay is buyer beware, But some good buy's are out there for rolling stock ( RR car's ). READ some of the older post's to find problems you may have most have fix's.

Hi birdringsWelcome  to the forum,     it would help if we know where you are based? then we can point you it the right direction.   I would start with a model hobby shop, then when you are more sure of what you want you can try the internet.    But as people say  you need to know its what you want and the price is within your budget.         Hope this helps

If you list where you are from they we may be able to point you toward a hobby shop. If you just serach g scale on the internet there are a ton of places. I wouldn't know a good internat dealers since I buy all of my g scale needs from a hobby shop. I hope you find what you need - Peter
