Hey Irate Squirrel! Yes the metal rods will fit..but there is a big BUT!
The cylinders on the Anniversary unit are different (larger) and the crossheads and guides are larger..so you'd need the Annie cylinder unit too. Also the reverse link cradles, that screw onto the chassis side above the 1st driver will not be a direct screw on, to the older chassis.
So it is not a direct swap over, but new holes drilled, careful fitting is required.
The biggest problem will be aquiring the metal rod set...this is exaclty what many others have requested from Bachmann, and such parts are in short supply..used to repair locos, rather than sell as parts. None the less there is no harm in calling Bachmann parts and asking.
give it a try, or aquire a whole new Annie at discount rates! and retire the old 4-6-0 into the parts bin!,
Fletch.

Hi everyone I have an old bighauler I picked up for cheap. I'm converting it along the lines of the B&O B-18 and would like more modern siderods, will the Bachman anniversary ones work for this?
THANKS!
