Bachmann Spectrum 4-4-0 track radius
Posted by AustraliaJim on Sunday, November 28, 2010 10:00 PM

Guys, I've just purchased an Spectrum 4-4-0 because it looked good and was at a good price. I don't have any track yet but want to run it inside. What is the minimum radius the Bachmann 4-4-0 will run on? I think Bachmann recommend 8' diameter but I'd like to know if anyone has run them on 5' dia. or LGB R2?

Thanks

Jim

Check the Bachmann Trains forum, the users there will give you the best advice

http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/board/index.php?board=6.0

but 6.5' dia is what I been told is the minimum for best operation

   Have fun with your trains

Guys, I now have my Spectrum 4-4-0 and here is what I have found out. The "Bach Man" at Bachmann forums recommends an 8' Diameter, the instructions that came with the loco recommend a 10'  Diameter to look prototypical. I however have the Eureka & Palisade running very well on a 5' Diameter under the Christmas tree. I am not pulling any cars though!
