Ziggman2,

You're not the first to ask this question. I've talked to Bob Keller at Classic Toy Trains about this, and he also suggested Atlas.

Gargraves says their track can be used outdoors, BUT order with gray plastic ties, not the black ones, and do not surround them with things that can overheat the plastic ties, and don't step on it, and only buy the stainless rail..

Stick with Atlas..

Atlas O 3 rail track is probably your best option. Atlas has Nickle Silver rails and the plastic ties are U/V resistant. The electric switch motors for the turnouts would need to be replaced with something more weather resistant.

Hi to All!

I'm new to this forum....I'm 65 years old and if I do something wrong or dumb.....let me know and put me back on track...this my first post.....

I have "Boxes" of Lionel form the 50's.......I would like to use them in an Outdoor Railway.....

Can anyone tell me of a source of OUTDOOR track that Lionel will run on?

Thank You all.

Sincerely

Ziggman2
