MRC 6200
Posted by budd on Saturday, August 21, 2010 12:12 AM

MY 6200 controller is only working at  full throttle , When i turn it on the light goes to full intensity and the throttle is at full speed . How can I fix this, or do I just throw it away.

Thanks

Bud

Transistor inside is quit... dead short, so full on.

The 6200 is very marginal for anything more than one loco, and I was not even able to run certain locos with it, it is under 2 amps output at higher voltages.

I gave mine away. If it's in warranty, have it fixed if you don't have to spend too much for shipping. If you are handy, pull it apart and get the part number of the transistor and try replacing it.

I'd recommend a more powerful "throttle", at least 5 amp capacity.
