I'm about to do an experiment and use the wiring and battery from a 14.4 volt black and decker drill to power an older Bachmann Big Hauler.  They are firestorm batteries and I have several of them charging at one time, have a few 18 volts.  It's a perfect fit for a tender or boxcar and they are available everywhere.  Has anyone ever tried them or does anyone advise against this??

Whilst I have never used drill batteries, with a suitable box car they are very useable.

As I mentioned to someone earlier today on LargeScale Central, the components that are made for this hobby not only speed your install, but make life easier.  I tried it do it on the cheap, but to my dismay, I only wasted time and funds...
