Hi, I use phoenix sound for all my locos, go to there web site and order direct. Ive always found them to be very helpful and if you need any extras they will send them, plus if you get a prob with any thing they will help. Hope this helps
Age is only a state of mind, keep the mind active and enjoy life
And you don't have a large international shipping charge. PB9 are really great, and very easy to install. Go for it, you won't be sorry

Mick,You need the PB9
I sell them here in Australia.http://www.beltrol-rc.com/p1165-Sound.html
Certainly not as cheap as the USA but you do get a warranty here.
Best wishes,Tony Walsham (Remote Control Systems) http://www.rcs-rc.comModern technology. Old fashioned reliability.
Thank You for your input. I have explored the suppliers, but that has generated more questions. I run DC only. Do I want a P8 or a PB9? The Phoenix site keeps referring to DCC, saying how each unit was designed with DCC in mind, perfect for DCC users etc. What about us primitives still using DC?

I'm not sure were these people are or if they have a good rep. but Garden Railroad Supply Co. has some good prices (I think). http://gardenrrsupply.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=GRSC
I would give up on absolute cheapest, that will be the least trustworthy, and that's the last thing you are going to need if you are in Australia.
I'd recommend Robby at RLD Hobbies, but have not checked about international shipments. He has some of the lowest prices, but great customer service and stands behind what he sells.

Alright. I have decided that one of my rail tractors (gas critters) needs a sound system. And I have settled on the Phoenix galloping goose unit. Refer to my video if you don't know what I am talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahdIazQD2hA
Now. I do not know of a retailer or re-seller here Down Under, so who is the cheapest or most trustworthy supplier for these units? What should I expect to pay?
Answers in US$ and I will do the calculations.
I have used simple chuffers, Dallee Steam units and My Loco Sound diesel units. All have their benefits and limitations. I will use some of them again, but I want to go all out on this unit, but not get ripped off.
Suggestions please.
