Man, talk about going for MBP (Max Brownie Point) and getting burned with defective gear. Sounds to me if it wern't for bad luck you wouldn't have any at all. Hope she gave credit for the attempt.

Sounds like success. The disassembly text on my site is to really pull the loco apart. You are correct in that to get to the circuit board you can just pull off the smokebox front.
I was more trying to point you to the circuit diagram.
Glad it all worked out!

After letting it run for about an hour, I'm confident it's fixed, I also had to lower the Kaydee's on the two repaint's, coach's I aquired as singel units larger diamiter wheels then the cars from set's??. Now the only thing to do swap out the offset Kaydee on the tender for 821 type then all the couplers will be the same type and most important hight. The only exception is the front pilot coupler it set's in the coupler pocket witch is to high, but it look's prototype. Delta flyer vidio come soon...............
Dave, having fun

1.Gerg sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I was out of town till last night.
2. I removed the CB as far as I could without cutting any wires. just far enough to work on it.
3. For some unknown reson one of the power transistors fried.
4. After I fix the PCB I will post the steps for PCB removal only, It dosn't seem nessary to disassamble the frame and boiler.
Thank's
