I see the Climax but not the shay on the UK site...

My 55 ton, 2 truck Shay will handle R1 curves without problem on my layout. But as has been mentioned you should go with a wide a curve as your available space will accommodate.
Bachmann just reissued the original Spectrum Climax in G gauge, but since you can still get the 3 truck Shay new I would not think a reissue of the 2 truck would be anytime soon.
But you can find them on Ebay and at LHS's. I have been looking for a Climax for a very long time and my LHS bought an estate that included a Climax. Turns out that although the box had been stored in a garage for years the engine inside it had never been taken out of the stryfoam. So you might still find a new 2 truck Shay out there somewhere.
Best,

Hi, Knowing Bachmann it could be years before they do a second run, it seems they want to bring new things on line. If I owned one of the 2 truck shays my curves would be R3 just remember what you are pulling behind it 40ft wagons look daft on R1-2 they over hang the track to much.
I can't answer the question about whether or not Bachmann plans to ever release another version, but for the minimum radius I would guess it's close to 3 foot diameter, though it would probably look ridiculous on that tight a curve.
Why don't you ask 'The Bach Man' on their web site about plans to release another run, and be sure to specify G scale because they make HO, N, and O scale, too.
Does anyone know if (and when) Bachmann will make another run of these? Also what is the minimum diameter of curved track a shay like this could handle?
