Hey folks!
I just recently ran across 2 sets of Thomas made by Lionel. One set is #8-81027 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5904922648&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1) and the other is #81016 "Deluxe with Sound" (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5904649927&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1).
Are these two sets similar with both being G scale? The only difference I see is one has sound but I'm not certain. Any help would be appreciated!
I'm looking to add one of these to my GRR for my 2 year old son.
Thanks!

I cannot acces the ebay listing right now, but Lionel did do 2 sets, Thomas with Annie and Clarabel set, and James the Red Engine and two Troublesome Trucks set. Both were made about 6 years ago, I know because I had a James set picked up from Pic-n-Save for $50. I dont recall sound ever being offered but if these are both Lionel and both stated as being G guage then yes, they are completely compatable and they are great for kids. It gives them there own trains. They are realitivly tough, and will put up with alot of abuse.
Have fun with your trains

Hi there,
I do believe there were two releases of the Thomas set. I recall there being two different colours of track. I see these on ebay a lot around Christmas. Kid's love em' so I would say go for it. Later eh...Brian.
