Bachmann big hauler open or closed trolley scale?
Posted by Gundy on Thursday, July 22, 2010 2:08 PM

Hello all.  Hope everyone is enjoying their summer trains.  I'm looking for some help.  Does anyone know what scale the Bachmann big hauler enclosed or open trolley is?  I run usa and aristocraft trains, but i would like a trolley to run on a reversing unit that I bought from aristo.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks and keep the metal on the rails!

1:20.3 like all of the other Big Hauler models.

1:20.3 like all of the other Big Hauler models. That makes the car 6'6" wide at the belt rails and about 10 6" from the top of rail to the top of the roof walk.

Prtobably didn't need three posts...but Big Haulers were designed for 1:22.5 to go with the LGB offerings prevalent in the hobby when the Big Hauler line was designed.
The open and closed troleys were 1:22.5, just like the passemger cars, locomotives, freight cars...that kind of stuff.

In fact, when the Big Hauler cra...stuff first came out, there WAS no 1:20.3. It was several years until Reinberg and others decided that was the correct scale for the gauge.
