Sounds like a broken wire on the relay, or a broken or burned contact. The relay does the reversing and since it runs in forwards, all points to the relay contacts... you might poke around and look for a bad wire connection on it.

If you are not familiar with what the relay looks like it will be a small rectangular device with about 8 contacts coming from it, 2 may be further away from the other 6.

Thank you for the tips everthing works, but for the reversing it only runs one way . If I press the opposite direction button you hear the switch work in the reciever but the loco does not move, but when I push the opposite button you hear the switch and the loco moves. I must still be doing something wrong.

And to SEAN that web sight you sent me,is going to be very helpfull .

So thank you gentlmen for your time.

1st I turn it on then I select linear. 2nd I press FRQ and the light blinks but it is allways blinking I select the number one position and the light should go out when I push another button but it does not stop blinking.3RD I push and hold the code set button and it lights up which is a good thing but the light on the key pad is still blinking, but when I push the go button the light stays steady on the transmitter, and the light on the receiver starts to blink but nothing happens.

The light on the transmitter (remote) is (almost) always blinking-it shows what "channel" (or track, etc.) you are on. The same light goes solid when you press a button (say to speed up the train).

I think you are missing "step 3" from the manual (where you select the channel).

Then after you press the code set button (and the code signal light comes on) you immediately press (and hold) a button "A"-"E". Wait for the code signal light to flash, then release the button. Press another button "A"-"E" the code signal light should go off. This is "step 5" in the manual. I recommend pressing "C" both times in "step 5". The first "C" sets the momentum ("C" in this step sets the momentum to the medium setting.) The second "C" sets the delay when changing direction (again "C" is the medium setting).

Good luck.

Hi Guys

I just purchased my first train engineer and I am having a lot of problems in getting it to do what it should. First up how does anybody follow those instructions and I dont know any body that has one. I did get it going once but when I turned it off and then back on the next day bingo it did not work so I have been trying so many times to get the thing working, that I am at the point of just tossing it.

You guys use them all the time so what am I doing wrong

Help I know I am showing my age,it would be so simple if I was a younger man. Regards Ces
