smoke unit replacement
Posted by bopdoc on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 4:32 PM
My Bachmann 38-ton Shay smoke unit has burned out, and I would like to replace it with one that would put out more volume, be fan-driven,and preferably have a pulsating (puffing) feature. Anybody out there know of such a device?

I think Massoth makes a smoke unit like what you want... BUT I think it needs a Massoth decoder to work. Not sure, but I'll look tomorrow.

Thanks for looking that up.....it lead to several other useful sites. That Massoth smoke unit is SPECTACULAR!!...it makes everything else I've seen pale by comparison...now to see if I can find a local guy to wire it in!

You're welcome. It is a pretty impressive smoke unit.

By the way, does it need a decoder to work?
