Jerry,
The GR article Jun 09 Table 1 provides the different rail measurements for the different turnout numbers. The turnout number is the distance in inches from the tip of the frog to where there is a divergence of 1". Everything else is generated from that measurement and of course a track gauge.

Seems to work okay, still mulling over the ground throw on what to do. Sometimes I just use a brass wire bent and have some holes drilled.
Anyone have a source for downloads of other sizes of switches? The GR plan was a #5, like to get a 4 and a 6.

I see the difference in the rail size caused you some fitup issues. It looks like you had to use spikes between the guard rails and the stock rails plus the frog assembly didn't fit together very flush since the flanges were narrower. I'm guessing the tight fitup did not match the plan making the angles wrong for you which in turn made soldering the frog assembly very difficult. Have you worked out the throw bar attachment yet?
I'm using code 250 brass SVRR, it is smaller than code 332. All the code 250 made by various companies varies a bit in size, it seems. Here's a pix, Ron Senek made the redwood tie strip for me.

I have the same question. I can get a wheel to bounce in the #7.5 I made so I'm pretty sure I'll have to fill that one. The smaller #5's don't bounce. I filled one anyway and I can't feel a difference. I should say that I don't have them installed yet so all I'm talking about is hand running a car over them. Is your 250 flange as wide? If it isn't them maybe the hole is smaller with 250 rail.
I made a switch from the GR pdf plan, using code 250 brass. The plan was set up for code 332. Do I need to do the epoxy filling? Trucks seem to roll fine over the frog, since the 250 is not as high, does that mean I don't need to do the epoxy fill or not?
