i real dont care how many gp-40s where made. i talked to robby myself and he said he had very few problems. before i talked to robby, i talked to lewis polk and navin in person and they iniformed me that they would fix any problem i had with these locos. it did take a long time but we should not forget that they put alot of money into making this loco for us. shure they make a buck but not as much as they used to thanks to china going 2nd world in this Obomamee it makes more sense to support your favorite model manufacturer through a mistake that they will fix than it is to female dog to much. they just might make that u-50-b for me or that alco c-415 for bill . lets not dwell on the gp-40 problem, lets think about what bitchin locos we have from aristo and hope for what your future loco you would like to see.(mine-s.p. alco c-415) thank you to all. bob snider.
Strange, there has only been one run of 1000 GP-40s... actually that's not exactly true, Robby had a custom painted run (RLD hobbies), which MIGHT have been a separate manufacturing run.
Aristo has indicated they are getting new motors, but they do not seem to have arrived.

i do not know why it took a year. i think they had to re-tool. they usually are very quick with repairs on other locos. bob.
Why did they have your locos for a year? There is a statement that they are getting replacement motors..
i recieved my 2 gp-40s back from aristo about 2 weeks ago.(they had them for 1 year) i have ran them for several hours without any trouble. when i first had them before the trucks went bad they were to fast to run with my sd-45s. they will now run fine with them. in the repair they must have changed the gear ratio? at any rate they are good locos. thank you aristocraft. bob snider.
