Welcome aboard Dave; I model 1:29 scale on 45mm “G” sectional track. I like to walk with my trains meandering through the garden (450’ loop). I have track power using Aristo Train Engineer R/C. I’ve considered battery, but what I have works fine. Live Steam is out of the question. I live in Tahoe National Forest and heed Robson’s Law of Random Chance; if something can go wrong odds are I’ll get burnt. However that’s the way to gain experience, ask your questions.

Have fun, Rob

Although I've been a model railroader and railfan for years (chased the 610 when she pulled the Freedom Train, rode the BSM all the way), I've decided that my love for live steam has come to the fore, and N just doesn't have much opportunity for that.  And SWMBO approves of any activities on my part that improve her garden, I'm making the jump.  Lot's of questions coming up, but, having been a long time Usenet and now web fora user, I know the rule "read lots before posting once" (which I've obviously already violated Blush

Thanks in advance for answers, jokes, smiles and digs  And especially answers (or, patience, too)

Welcome to the forum Dave!!! Posting photos here is quite easy. If you don't

already have one....open an account at one of the photo hosting sites like

flickr.com .....there are many others. When you want to put a photo in a post,

click on the little icon that looks like a tree, it will have you post the url for the

photo.....and the software here does the rest!!!

Just a quick note to introduce myself....the name is Dave, third generation railroader myself, been active in Model / Garden railroading for almost ten years now. I operate mostly live steam along with some battery powerd locomotives on my outdoor railroad.

Once I figure out how to post a few pics I'll do so, in the meantime , looking forward to good dialouge going forward !

may your Boiler never run dry ! Dave
