Bachmann 10 wheeler sound system
Posted by IRB Souther Engineer on Saturday, January 9, 2010 7:13 PM

A while ago I purcased a bachmann 10 wheeler- out of the box (was from a starter set but still new) Banged Head

It has a sound system in the tender, but all (I can make it do is) chuff. I was wondering if anyone knew if it has a bell/whistle, and if so how can I make it work.

Sorry, but that's all it does, it's chuffs.

Hi  If you want more sound you will need to take that one ouy and install some thing like pheonix sound. You will also need to adapt the tender to power pick up off the wheels.and reed switches to give sound as loco travel..  I use that way of doing it as the loco moves round the layout you put track magnets where you want then and as loco passes you will get sounds.      If you deside to go that way pheonix will progran unit for you or you can do it yourself by buying programe and cable to link to your P.C     Hope this helps

Yup, just a chuff and any sound system that has bell and whistle will cost more than a whole starter set!

Okay, thanks

I don't like the engine that much...

When I get a K-27 Wink maybe I'll look into the pheonix sound systems.
