I was going to say that from the looks of the foundation stone it looks like it is in place where it will stay. Q. From the pix, it looks as if at least one roof side is hinged. Are both sides hinged?

Walt,
since ours is a very limited segment of a limited interest hobby (as all the manufacturers say) I doubt that theivery is what you have to be concerned about. I'd be more worried about vandalism. Put a 4' chain link fence around the yard and mount a sign "protected by PAWS and JAWS mobile alarm system" with a picture of a German Shepard on it and you probably won't have any problems.
In 4 or 5 years on several forums i've only heard of 1 case of somebody having GRR stuff stolen. Given the prices for scrap metal a year and a half ago, I expected to hear about a lot of missing track. NADA!
All the neighborhood kids come when I have an open house and some even help run things. That gives them an interest in making sure nothing bad happens.
Sean,
That's really nice work, congrats. And I love that sector switch.
I'm considering building something similar but have put it off for security reasons. What would it take to punch a hole in the top or side of your structure? And is it light enough to be carried away by 2 or 3 men? I'm really curious to know if you've considered security for this structure and if you've taken some steps to make your engines secure when your away (or asleep)?
Honestly, I'm not trying to rain on your parade but my concerns about security have kept me from going forward with my own plans for an outdoor on-site rolling stock structure.
Please share your thoughts.
Thanks,
Walt
