G SCALE MAD website announced to close as of Nov 1
Posted by vsmith on Thursday, October 22, 2009 11:04 AM

Jason Palmer the owner of the British large scale website G Scale Mad has announced that the website and forum will close as of Nov 1, from what I can determine reading thru the site this is due to a campaign of personal attackes on him by a few former and current members upset about the mere fact that discussion about the Chinese LGB Knockoffs Newquida has been allowed on the site. (Shades of the BS that went on this side of the pond during LGB's demise)

If any members here also frequent that site you might what to chime in with your support for the site, its a great site just like this one and it would be a real shame to see it go under due to a few morons.

Looks like he is determined to shut it down, have been lots of posts on there supporting him. I am a member and enjoyed looking around there. You got some good info on small cottage businesses that we don't have here and were not aware of. I bought a MyLocoSound system, after reading about it on that forum.  I hope someone in the UK starts up a new forum like it, but not sure it will happen or not.

Hi Jerry

Been reading thru the site and looks like this might have been a long time coming, since LGB went under and the "smoke and fury" that accompanied any attempted discussion about the subject. The final straws began being added since the first posting about Newquida coming to market over a year ago, but even before then there was a gap between the users of LGB who treated the site like an "LGB Only" site and the rest who ran anything and everything. The fall of LGB and the BS that followed, I think Jason almost shut it down back then if my memory serves me right, but this latest round of BS by the True Believers was finally the straw that broke the camels back, I mean that forum was a hobby for the guy. Now its a burden, dont blame him one bit for hanging it up, let the True Beleivers eat cake on the Yahoo LGB Family Forum, there still might be a few crumbs laying around there.

Is that place still even open I wonder?

Replacement site is up and running to replace G Scale Mad. Seems about the same but easier to upload pix to, might check it out.
