Thanks for taking the time to reply. We have an 8hour time difference over here so I apologise for not getting back to you sooner. I am looking at the late 1800's to early 1900's as all my rolling stock is steam outline running on plenty of trestles. I intend to place this at the end of a shuttle from a mill to station about 50' long.
Thank you Alan.
Hello and thanks for the advice, the area really is not a problem. Its gleaning useful ideas that will enable me to scratchbuild a Mill/Yard and the types of equipment installed in such a structure.

Couple of quick questions. What time frame/local are you looking at (i.e. small 1880's US old west, or 1990's major metropolitan lumber mill?) I've got a bunch of old photos of the 1:1 mills and derelict remains of very old ones. Or you could do a google image search for "sawmill" and you find a ton of pix from which to freelance model from.

Hello.
Measure the layout space availible to your industrys and design, build to suit the availible space.
My two cents.
Gentlemen I am having trouble locating suitable plans for a sawmill/timber yard for my g scale garden layout. Any photos of existing layout buildings will be of use also timbers used. Bearing in mind here in the UK redwood is difficult to obtain.
Thanks.
