Power Supply

 Many Ham radio retailers in the UK have a good range of power supplies but only a few that have ones that provide over 15V output.

However look at Martin Lynch web site or one or two other reputable Ham radio dealers web sites.  There is also Maplin and Helmsman who are often mentioned on the UK large scale Forum.

It seems, however, that a good reliable unit will cost between £150 and £200.  My two power supplies, one switching the other linear, for radio use both cost over £100 and that was some years ago.

The Aristo 13.5A  Elite seems to sell for around  £130 - £135 at the competitive dealers stores (Dragon GS and Garden.R,CENTRES). 

There is a cheaper but lower amperage Elite so be aware of that.

 I'm a ham... most stuff runs on 12v....

24v is a better choice for large scale...

You might do well trying to find a MeanWell power supply in the UK, try a search on them..

You can find them on ebay and also look on the web for "Mean-Well" or Meanwell. It's a Korean company. They make a 10 amp 24 volt power supply which I've been using for years. I belive it's model # 320-24.

Look for ham radio (amature radio) power supplies. A lot of folks over here use them. Sorry, I don't have brand names or the like.

I live in the UK, and I wanted to up grade my power supply from a 5amp to a 10amp DC supply. I tried several suppliers each one told me that they do no have 10amp 22volt DC plenty of AC so im going to biuld one  Looked at Aristo for one price best part of £200.00 thats a lot of cash and as I use T/E £25.00 extra for cooling fan for the controller.
