Thanks. I am always telling my wife that this has to be the best forum on the trains.com site. You just proved my point once again.

The Phoenix unit is what I'm looking at as well. Is it a plug and play install or do I need to make mods to anything? Can you expound on reed switches? Thanks.

Hi Glad you are pleased, I use Pheonix sound in mine and its great.  I also use reed switches as I find that gives me better chuff having magnets on tender axcil plus other sound triggered by the LGB track magnets.   Enjoy running it

I have two on a shelf that I had to split in half so it would not sag, just above my computer. The last time they ran on track was version seven of the DNRR. But now that the Delta & Northern is almost done #519 will be relettered for the D&N with #5 retaining Deadwood Central.

ps the shelf's are 32" each

Well, it came today. This thing is huge. I'd hate to see what the K27 looks like. I really like how the tender comes prepared for sound, too. Lots of detail.
