Sorry, I just realized that Garden Railways is always at the ECLSTS at York. This Fall is the first attempt for a Fall Show is 25 & 26 September.

gbbari: Attendance was down compared to other shows, but I guess that's to be expected with the economy. In general, attendees were very happy and involved in the hobby. Don U: Having worked for CTT years ago, I am long aware of York (and am a TCA member). It's not a show GR has considered attending, due to the prominence of O gauge at the show. That being said, I know the CTT fellas and they could handle the lion's share of large-scale questions, or pass along information to give to Marc or I. I've heard it's quite the show. .

To Rene S,

Has "Garden Railways" ever given any consideration to attending the two TCA York meets. Your sister publication, "Classic Toy Train" always has a booth.

It's an "all gauge" meet, heavy on "O" gauge but with lots of "G" gauge.  It's a Train Collectors Association members only show, 14,000 members (with money to spend and interest in trains) attending, all 8 halls at the York Fair Grounds filled, 1,800+ member tables, 270+ dealer booths.

Me? I collect old Lionel, operate "G" gauge in my back yard, and subscribe to Garden Railways, Classic Toy Trains, and Trains Magazine.

Thanks Rene. Any comments on the show itself...as compared to any other large scale shows that you have attended recently?

Excellent, but more is better.  I forget that Marc lives somewhere else from where you work.  I was thinking that you were in Colorado too. All the more reason for you to come to ECLSTS in Sept, or next spring. or both.

I'm back from Denver, attending the National Garden Railway Convention. Here are a few pics:

Our booth

A view of the hotel atrium, where the Convention Store and a few social activities took place.

Marc's railroad was not on tour this year, but I stopped by and took some photos. These are some amazing hen-and-chicks on his railway's retaining wall.

This year's BBQ was at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. Lots of stuff running, including a Goose.

Saw some railroads, of course. I can't remember exactly, but I believe this one is from Pete and Linda Doty's (please correct me if I'm wrong, the days sort of blurred together)!
