Hi Jon,   I take it you are talking about G gauge?  I would recomend the Pheonix sound card.    I have two of them and find they are rearly good      The PB9 gives you all the things that you need Speaker 2 reed switches (you can order more if you require them) Volume switck a Jack socket for down loading extra bits if required  2 axcel magents again you can order extra and batt for playing sounds when loco has stopped      Take a look at thee pheonix sound web sit it gives you all the sounds of differant locos so you can choose which ones you want to have put on sound chip.     Hope this helps
