Kevin , I just picked up a Panasonic HDD SDR-H80 digital movie camera from Best Buy . It has a 70x "optical zoom" and tapes everything directly to a built in hard drive . I;m sorry but I don't know anything about compression settings . It's a real small unit and I laid it next to the tracks a couple of inches away .
That is great angle to view the trains. Very realistic looking. Lets see more shots of the RR.
Great! I thought for a few seconds that I was looking at the real thing. Let me say that over again. Our trains to us of course are the real thing............................I thought I was looking at a full sized scene.

Great angle! What compression settings are you using to get YouTube to play that as high quality? Too bad it didn't recognize it as being 16x9 video. I've heard of narrow gauge, but...
