Still tweeking track and I'm making slow progrees.  My test train is up too 71 MPH ( scale speed ) and I've added 2 foot to the overall lenth. I am also CONSIDERING adding an second passing siding since NOW would be the time add the turn outs before I start backfilling with ton's of 1/4 blue minous .I FELL THE NEED FOR MORE TRACK.One more day of 99deg + heat so not much will get done today........

As you can see I walked around with pen,paper & one of my 10w switchs I came up with a workable add-in of the second passing siding . To make it work I need to remove a 6" section of track on the current siding. I just hope for mysake, I don't have to cut down my wife's 20 yr old Rose Tree  Now all I need is $350 for track, $5.00 for new track jointer screws  ( well worth the $$'s ) and $20. for concrete bricks ( 80 ).......P.S. I have the pair of 10w's . and  I'm running out of place's to add track connected to the Mainline?????????????

So you think by now I would have pictures well I DON'T. We have been Busy moving only 1 more load to go and we are done with the Reno House. So back to my update. New Bridge abutments are in place for one bridge, The track was rasied form -2%grade to 0, I now pick up speed before my long +1.5% grade. When I redid that area I leveled the bridge and both approchs Now I need to do the other bridge. I'm also going add shims on the bridge's to elminate some minor bounce and noise.

70% of track relaid on concret bricks ( 3.5 X 7.5 ), the long grade has been lowered to 1.5% and is now only 50 ft or so doubule stacked . The Passing siding was realighed to remove a kink, still needs to be tested and minor grade tweeking to remove a dip and a high spot. Test running the main line has been a REAL PAIN IN A** !!!  Track that worked didn't,after tweeking two sections blow one of the motor blocks on my NW1 pulling a 9 car passinger train along with 1 U25B after about 45 minutes. Now running F3ABA with no proublems My computer is broken, I'm whating for a rainy day to fix it. Till then no on-line pictures.I'm using my Wife's lapdrop and I'm NOT ALLOWED to add anything since I added the conficker vierous to mine..............

Howdy Dave; sounds like your energized looking forward to pix. I’ve got a mountain of rock for the taking, just come up here to the Sierra’s; I’ll even help you load it. Do you still get up to Reno?

Have fun, Rob

Pictures comming sooner or later, Had my NW1 running for 9 hours without a slow down or any problems with the lift out bridge's ( 2 ) even had it running at just above stall speed, took 5min 30 sec to run the main. The main line is 160ft and the passing siding is 30% complete ( 40ft ) for a total of 200ft. still need lots of dirt and rock . Yesterday was the first time in 5 or 6 years that I had trains in the dirt running nonstop ...........

DNRR V10 UPDATE
Posted by dwbeckett on Monday, June 1, 2009 7:54 AM

Yes I'm Back with a new vershion. This one is plane and simpal, folded dog-bone with a reverse loop, two bridges that are removable and all the track will be at or close to ground level. V9 was a point to loop that was fine and fun to operate till I overran the overrun and almost lost an F-3.

Picture's at a later date still cleaning up my mess.

Dave

Back in the small houseSad

UPDATE;

V10 now has a 25 foot passing siding in the works. the second loop is in with most of the track in place and a stub siding at the station laied out. The old bench work from V9 became storage cabinet for my train's and power supplies it like most of my projects is 80% completed.
