This is exactly why I am not a subscriber, but buy my magazines from either Barnes and Noble or a local train shop. I want it in excellent condition, and I will pay more, and wait longer. Actually, my local train shop may have the new one in now. Thanks for the reminder.

 Hi Rudy,

Five or six years ago, GR stopped using the cellophane wrappers and changed the way the magazines were delivered. Overall, rerports of damaged issues are down significantly, but, of course, things still happen.

Customer Service would be happy to send a replacement copy (mailed in an envelope). Call 800-533-6644 or email customerservice@kalmbach.com with your subscription information and they will help!

Rudy, we don’t have mail delivery. The post office provides a PO Box which is ok except on heavy mail days. That’s when they bring out the compactor. In addition the back of the box is bigger than the front, because of the door. Naturally the magazines and catalogs are rolled around envelopes. Like defusing a bomb I systematically extricate pieces of mail from box when suddenly as if given a laxative everything flies out.

I call the publisher(s) and explain the torn and ripped magazine(s) and they send me a new one.

Good luck, Rob

Received my current copy of Garden Railways yesterday.  Good example of Postal Service handling.  Magazine looks like every body in the postal service read it and mis used it before it got to me.  Reminds me of how some of the Men's Magazines looked in days gone by when they were passed hand to hand to hand.  Did not Garden Railways used to send out the magazine in cellophane covers before or am I thinking of another magazine?
