USA Trains question
Posted by Mike Dorsch CJ&M r.r. on Saturday, May 2, 2009 3:09 PM

I'm trying to take the body shell off of a USA gp-38-2 locomotive. Got all the screws off but the body shell wont budge . Are there tabs to loosen or maybe a hidden screw that I am missing . Thanks in advance .

No tabs just screw way down in holes behind the weels. Take a flash light and shine some light down there -You'll be surprised! I think you need a long #1 screw driver. Hope this helps. Sean

You need to be sure you have all the screws out, or backed off completely. A long thin screwdriver that is magnetized is best. If you do not feel play, you missed a scres.

check my page on my web site to count the number of screws you should have removed.
